Henry is a seasoned commercial leader with 20+years Retail and Food Service industry experience.

After joining Sainsbury’s in 1994 I followed a commercial buying route to my first leadership position including Non-Food, Grocery and Fresh categories. Building supplier business plans and driving market share through striking the balance between brand and own label proving successful strategies.

To build on my leadership skills I delivered an end to end systems transformation programme where I further enhanced my stakeholder management, contingency planning and communication skills. Moving into the marketing team I was lucky enough to lead the pricing and promotion strategy giving me an opportunity to influence the total business offer to the customer and deliver tangible benefit to the bottom line.

A short spell in the electronics industry exposed me to Far East sourcing and an understanding of lifecycle costing which helped when I moved to Woolworths supermarkets in Australia. A great experience being immersed in a new culture and delivering cultural change across Australia’s no 1 food provider.

Moving to the food service industry has provided me a great opportunity to learn about how customer’s tastes are changing in the UK. Leading the Bakery, Dairy, Desserts and Non-Food procurement teams in Brakes showed me how innovation can drive customer satisfaction.

Having joined Foodbuy in June I am looking forward to driving the Non Food offer both in terms of offer and penetration within our client base.

Outside of work I am an avid follower of rugby and bringing up my children to the best of my ability.
